I returned to the Southwest station today, Monday, November 14, 2011 at 3:15p.m. The first officer I spoke with was an Officer Moran, Badge No. 16707. He advised me that I was not the first El Camino student to come and ask for this information, and he and his fellow officers had been advised they could not show the log to us because it contained personal and confidential information in it including Driver License numbers, addresses, phone numbers and names of both alleged perpetrators and victims of crimes. I had my pocket copy of the law with me, and so I showed it to him. He seemed a bit confused and stated it may be better for me to speak with his supervisor. He asked if I would not mind waiting. I stated that I did not.
